The school supported by SPARSH was on the verge of closing due the lack of fund in December 2019. Therefore team SPARSH took the sole responsibility to run the school. While looking for new school premises, Mr. Basu Dev Sharma, with a mindset to give back to the society, agreed to lease out his plot of land for the duration of five years. This act of kindness from Mr. Basu Dev Sharma came as a ray of hope for everyone associated with this noble cause.
In the year 2020, an educational centre for the school was set up with tin roofs, concrete foundation and bamboo walls, out of which three rooms measure 10/12 and two room measure 10/14. The whole process ignited a flood of inspiration and encouragement among the teachers as well as the students to continue with their dream of teaching and learning.
The school for underprivileged students, initially named Pragya Niketan was renamed as Yasashi Education Centre after the company registration under MCA on 22nd February 2021.

Yasashi Foundation (NGO) is working relentlessly for the education and overall upliftment of the underprivileged children of our society since more than a decade.
From 2020 Yasashi Foundation has initiated a fund raising diya campaign, to provide free education to these children amidst the covid-19 crisis. The Covid-19 pandemic has been a big blow to education for underprivileged children. These children are facing the biggest challenge as schools have opted for online mode education to fill the gap but most of these children lack digital access to continue with their studies.
To support the education of these children and fight the odds, Yasashi Foundation again organised a Diya Campaign-2021. This year's campaign was supported by a good number of people ranging from the volunteers of Yasashi Foundation, the students, teachers and other organisations.
A total of 10,500 diyas were painted with the paint provided by Earthful Foundation. Volunteers (school students) from Delhi also extended their helping hand to the campaign with the initiative taken by Piyasha Kaushik — they collected a total revenue of Rs 3,090.
The campaign turned out to be a successful one and the beautiful diyas were sold in various districts of Assam. The total revenue generated was Rs 1,15,000. The students of Yasashi Education Centre visited the Governor's House and met the First Lady Smt Prem Mukhi Ji. They also got the opportunity to visit Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua's residence. These opportunities to gift diyas to dignitaries and the appreciation received will work as a motivation booster for the students and Yasashi Foundation as a whole.

Our Origin
A Teacher, A Village, A Promise
In 2018, Priya Nair — a school teacher from Pune — visited a remote village in Jharkhand and found 40 children who had never attended a single day of school. Not because they didn't want to, but because there was no school within reach.

She returned to the city, gathered a group of friends, raised seed funding, and opened the first Pathshala Learning Centre in April 2018. What followed was unstoppable growth driven by community trust and real, visible results.
